Langley Moor Primary School

Global Links

At Langley Moor Primary School, we believe that developing our Children as global citizens is vitally important. We began our Global journey, in 2010, and it has gone from strength to strength. We have 'link' schools in many countries of the world, such as Sri-Lanka, France, Ireland and Brazil; we have also welcomed many international assistants and teachers to our school from countries such as Hungary, China and Germany.

International Schools Award

In 2012, we achieved the British Council Full International School Award. We are immensely proud of this award and it symbolises the importance we place on International learning in school.

Re-accreditation of the International Schools Award

In 2021, we achieved re-accreditation of the award. We are delighted with this achievement and our feedback from the assessor.

This is an outstandingly well-presented and comprehensive Impact Evaluation, which outlines your international education journey in a clear and focused way. You have produced an imaginative curriculum that is based on the core values of global education. This application satisfies the success criteria for the ISA and it is our pleasure, therefore, to recommend Langley Moor Primary School for the Re-accreditation level of the International School Award. The work you have devised and delivered with your various international partner schools is effective and promises to flourish into strong and sustainable collaborations in the future as you progress through your international work. There are great opportunities for good cross-curricular extension work around the opportunities and challenges facing people who live in the countries with whom you have come into contact like China and Brazil, for example, and comparing with those faced by those living in countries like the UK, Ireland and France, for example. In that way, you will be introducing your students to such global themes as 'sustainable living' and 'rights and responsibilities' in an engaging and effortless way.
