Rights Respecting School

We are thrilled to announce that Langley Moor Primary School has once again achieved the UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools Award at Gold level!
This incredible achievement shows how deeply children’s rights are woven into everything we do. Our pupils are articulate, passionate, and confident in understanding their rights, and our staff work tirelessly to make sure every child feels valued and included.
We are proud of the strong partnerships we have built with families and the wider community, which help our children make a real difference locally and globally.
“Rights are integral to school life – they are embedded consistently across all we do.”

UNICEF UK believes that these values should be embedded in the ethos and curriculum of our schools, and provides a framework in order to accomplish this. This is the purpose of the RRSA (Rights Respecting School Award).
In a rights respecting school, children learn to associate rights with needs and distinguish between their rights and ‘wants’. They learn that if they have rights, they need to respect the rights of others.
