Langley Moor Schools Federation are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible Caretaker to become part of our friendly and hardworking team. Langley Moor Primary School and Langley Moor Nursery School are next door to one another on adjoining sites. 

 
The successful candidate will ensure the school sites and buildings are safe, secure and well maintained. They will ensure that the sites are clean and equipment is maintained to a high standard.  

 

Key responsibilities include:- 
• The security of the buildings and contents (including the operation of fire, burglar alarms and key holder responsibility) 
• Lighting and heating duties 
• Basic grounds maintenance 
• Handyperson (undertaking minor repairs) and porterage duties 
• Monitoring the premises for hazards 
• Respond to emergency call out 
• Sweeping/salting and keeping car parks and footpaths clear and safe 
• Litter collection 
• Maintain relevant paper work 
Other duties as may be required for with the post. 
 
Our Caretaker will help to provide a warm, safe and secure environment in which children and staff can work effectively. They will carry out the full range of duties to ensure security and maintenance of our premises. This role includes handyperson duties e.g. basic carpentry and plumbing tasks. 
 
Our Caretaker will act as the designated key holder for each school and will be identified as ‘first call out’ contact, responding to security alarm or other call outs in accordance with agreed procedures. Payments will be made for overtime duties.  
 
Visits are encouraged and can be arranged by appointment with the School Business Manager, Miss Young. Please contact either school office to make an appointment. 

 
Annual leave must be taken in school holidays. 
  
Completed forms should be returned via email, post or delivered in person.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
